About Us - 2023

 

Ahead of Our Time is a worldwide organisation of women treated for breast cancer–who have been left permanently disfigured by chemotherapy. We have all recieved chemotherapy drug Taxotere, made by Sanofi or Docetaxel the generic version. Together, we share emotional support, compare medical research, and educate our health care providers about this side effect.

Two heads are certainly better than one when it comes to coping with enduring chemotherapy-induced hair loss. Some of us are working with a dermatologist to find a cure for our disfigurement. Some are working to ensure that patients and their oncologists are fully informed of the potential side effects of Taxotere/Docetaxel. Some want to find ways to live as a bald woman in a world that values hair as a defining part of beauty.
