Free Dossier to Download and Present to your Oncologist
Do you find it hard to ask, what you think are, awkward questions to your oncologist or any of your medical team?
It's not always the easiest thing to do, we know that, especially when it comes to that touchy subject of permanent hair loss. We, at Ahead of our Time, constantly hear from ladies who have asked and are met with replies of 'it's rare' or 'I've never seen it before'. They often feel too intimidated to broach the subject again. We thought having a dossier of facts in your hand might give you the courage to stand your ground and have your concerns properly addressed.
So, to make it easier for you, we have put together a free printable dossier. All you have to do is click on the button below, download then you can either print it out or keep it for your own reference. It doesn't include every single study carried out, there's so many of them! But it includes the latest independent studies that show it is anything but rare.
If you have that all important appointment with your oncologist looming and want to talk about the subject of pCIA, which stands for Persistent Chemotherapy Induced Alopecia, and are worried they might dismiss it, you can give them this dossier and explain how concerned you are. The stats in this studies are startling and something that can't be dismissed as 'rare' or 'irrelevant', especially if you will be having Taxotere/Docetaxel as part of your treatment.
What is not included in this dossier are the studies showing how scalp-cooling can hugely reduce to risk of pCIA. But that is something you can discuss with your doctor.
As always, please contact us if you need to talk.
